President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has again extended the PPKM (Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities) until August 30, 2021, with several regions dropping from level 4 to level 3. In addition to the development of COVID-19 which he considered improving, Jokowi also mentioned vaccination coverage.
“In the last few days I have seen that vaccination coverage continues to increase and currently 90.59 million doses of vaccine have been injected,” he said. Jokowi in a press release, Monday (23/8/2021).
“I ask the Minister of Health that by the end of August we should be able to achieve the injection of more than 100 million doses of vaccine,” he continued.
Appreciation is also given Jokowi against the involvement of the TNI-Polri in contact tracing activities. The close contact ratio increases as tracing activities also increase.
“On August 20, 2021, the close contact ratio reached 6.5, a far increase compared to July 31, 2021, which was at 1.9,” Jokowi explained.
