A further increase in incidences is expected
At the weekend, the Trier-Saarburg health department was reported to have 41 more infections with the corona virus – 23 from the city of Trier and 18 from the Trier-Saarburg district. The number of people demonstrably infected with the corona virus since March 11, 2020 is 7,627 (2,995 in the city of Trier and 4,632 in the Trier-Saarburg district).
Due to a larger, ongoing investigation, several cases of new infections were only recorded after the registration deadline for the determination of today’s 7-day incidence by the State Investigation Office of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is therefore to be expected that the incidences for the city and the district will rise significantly tomorrow as a result of the late reporting of these cases. The state investigation office reports the following incidences today:
City of Trier: 32.3 District Trier-Saarburg: 25.4
There are currently 5 patients from the region with Covid-19 disease in inpatient treatment. The number of infected people continues to rise and is 169 people, 30 more than on Friday. These are distributed as follows: 88 in the district and 81 in the city of Trier.
The number of infections in the district of Trier-Saarburg is distributed among the association communities as follows.

Appeal: Use vaccination offers and get vaccinated at short notice
The Robert Koch Institute warns that the 4th wave of infections will continue to pick up speed. In view of the renewed increase in the number of infections, the continued vacation and travel time and the spreading delta virus variant, the city and district appeal especially to younger citizens to take advantage of vaccination offers. There are now several options for getting vaccinated relatively quickly:

- Vaccination without an appointment at the vaccination center Trier / Trier-Saarburg at the times below www.trier.de/impfen are published

Health department: continue to observe the AHAL rules
Against the background of the current infection situation, the health department of the district administration advises to observe the applicable protection rules in the private sector, to adhere to distance and hygiene rules, to wear mouth and nose protection, to ventilate regularly, to wash and disinfect hands regularly and to keep contacts limit.
