The Taliban have set fire to a woman for poor cooking, while other women in Afghanistan are hiding and allegedly forced into sexual slavery.
“They force people to give them food and cook for them. The woman was set on fire because she was accused of cooking badly for Taliban fighters, “activist and former Afghan judge Nayla Ayubi told Sky News.
Ayubi fled the country when the Taliban began to take more control of Afghanistan and said she had received more reports of violence against women since. She added that she had also heard that many activists were hiding for fear of violence.
“There are so many young women sent to neighboring countries in recent weeks and they will be used as sex slaves,” she said.
Former Afghan judge Najla Ayoubi says she had to “flee” for her life from the Taliban after speaking in favour of women and women’s rights.
She says she’s spoken to hundreds of her fellow activists in Afghanistan and many of them are “in hiding”.https://t.co/L3t5CE65aD pic.twitter.com/btj45ANiDm

“They are also forcing families to marry their daughters to Taliban fighters. “I don’t see the belief that women can go to work when we see these atrocities,” she said.
Women living under Taliban rule from 1996 to 2001 were not allowed to go to school or work, could only leave their homes accompanied by a man, and had to be covered from head to toe.
