WandaVision Actress Elizabeth Olsen wasn’t sure what to make of the series launch. In an instant post-Thanos world, she wasn’t sure how a show that started in the 1950s relates to everything that happened before. the Avengers. But once Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Jac Schaeffer told her about their plans for the series, everything went well for her.
“I was really worried about starting a show like this.” Olsen says deadline. “The idea that Kevin came up with, this story turned into a Twilight Zone-My path through a sitcom is so twisted and strange to me that I might be curious what they came up with. Another problem was getting those superhero characters that audiences are used to seeing on big screens on a small TV. “
The show fell to Disney + right at the start of the pandemic. Everyone was inside looking for whatever kind of escapism they could find to distract themselves from the Covid crisis. WandaVision conveyed a sense of storytelling that struck a nerve with those who took a chance on the show. This marks the beginning of a new era of Disney content that some say surpasses its cinematic counterparts.
Her portrayal of Wanda Maximoff earned her an Emmy nomination, one of the first major nominations of her career. Most importantly, Olsen put a lot of effort into playing the character and had a lot of fun doing it.
“I am very grateful for this show. I have to have a lot of fun presenting myself as a ham. I have not done that in much of my work. You learn to be calm, reserved and polite in life, and it is a lot of fun to have this opportunity to access the skills you have learned over the years. It has awakened my body to what I love about work, and I feel positive aftermath as I prepare for my next job. “
