(London) 22 August 2021. Tottenham Hotspur are desperate to sign Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, although reports have suggested that the two clubs have agreed a fee.
Goal has previously revealed that Spurs and Inter have agreed a fee for Martinez and that the race to sign him is still open to Atletico Madrid.
However, Tottenham’s deal for the Argentina international is close to failure as the player has turned down an offer from the English club to stay at the Nerazzurri, according to Serie A champions Giuseppe Marotta.
The 23-year-old, who has a two-year contract with Inter, wants to stay at the club, which has reassured Italian fans following the recent loss of Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.
