It is truly exceptional that some foods burn more calories than they contain

First of all: cauliflower and asparagus. The former are ideal for the diet, providing the body with less energy than is necessary for their assimilation. They are also useful for keeping under control blood sugar, giving a sense of satiety. In addition, thanks to the high fiber content, they are a panacea for intestinal health.

They have a very low calorie intake, having a high water content. In particular, courgettes have diuretic properties, while celery and cucumbers promote the sense of satiety. Furthermore, cucumbers are also rich in potassium, iron and calcium, therefore suitable for replenishing water and mineral salts. The latter are lost naturally in the summer and during physical activity all year round.

This category includes: citrus fruits, strawberries, apples and papaya. Consider that lemons, oranges and mandarins are very rich in water and contain a very low number of calories. Moreover, thanks to potassium, they help to counteract water retention and increase the sense of satiety. Then, strawberries contain antioxidants that can control blood sugar levels and prevent certain diseases, such as diabetes. On this list, a little more caloric is papaya, which provides 43 calories per 100 grams.

It is also an excellent source of antioxidants and as reported by some magazines it helps protect cardiovascular health. Plus it reduces the risk of colon cancer. Finally, apples, thanks to their low fat and sodium content, are ideal for preserving the cardiovascular system. In addition, their peel helps reduce cholesterol, sugar and insulin levels in the blood.
