This well-known actor and keen on history is devoting a web series to the history of the great municipalities of France. Baptized ” To all berzingue ”, these videos broadcast on the actor’s Youtube channel aim to tell the story of a big city in France, at high speed!
On Thursday August 6, 2021, Lorant Deutsch unveiled the video he devoted to the prefecture of Tarn-et-Garonne, the result of an express shoot operated by the actor and his team on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 June.

Lorant Deutsch covers the history of the city of Ingres sinceAntiquity to the present day. The actor unwinds this long chronological frieze at full speed, indeed, but without forgetting the key dates and notorious facts of the history of the city.
The narrator recalls the foundation of Montauban by the Count of Toulouse in the 12th century, the solid Protestant place that the city embodied in the harshest of the wars of religion, the loss of the status of “capital” when during the Revolution the generality of Montauban was dismissed and the city integrated the department of … Lot with the prefecture Cahors. A heresy for the Montalbanians! In 1808, Napoleon will finally agree to create the department of Tarn-et-Garonne and to restore its luster to the city.

Regarding the founding of the city, Lorant Deutsch tells for example that the site is first occupied and valued by the Church, when a bishop decides to build the abbey of Montauriol (meaning Mont d’Or). Then, when the count of Toulouse founded, not far from this abbey, a new town, he decided to call it Montauban, that is to say the “mont des willules” or the “mont-blanc” as opposed to the name of the neighboring abbey.
Why it’s called “Mont Blanc”, we don’t really know (…). Me, in my opinion it was mainly to ch … the monks!
Lorant Deutsch’s initiative received the support and partnership of theMontauban tourist office. Moreover, the video is broadcast on the site of the organization and will undoubtedly contribute to the attractiveness of the city.
