Nine men and women check into a chic wellness to leave their hectic lives behind. The cast of this miniseries includes big names such as Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon and Luke Evans, but the most famous star is Nicole Kidman.

The Chair

Netflix threw a quarter of a billion dollars on the table in 2019 to DB Weiss and David Benioff, the writers of Game of Thrones, exclusively for five years. No dragons or white walkers in Weiss and Benioff’s first title on Netflix: The Chair takes place at a fictional American university. Ji-Yoon (Sandra Oh) has become the first woman ever to take charge of the English Department when an incident in class sparks debate about political correctness, racism and sexism.

Sweet Girl is anything but the sweet teen movie the title promises. Jason Momoa (42), Aquaman and Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones, in this exciting revenge film, plays a family man who takes up battle with a corrupt pharmaceutical company: not through a lawsuit, but with clenched fists.

Vivo

Vivo celebrates Cuban culture with a story about a singing roller-tailed bear who travels from Havana to Miami to deliver a song to an old friend. Buena Vista Social Club is also part of this colorful musical animation film: Juan de Marcos González did the voice and singing work of father figure Andrés.

Mare of Easttown

In this new HBO series, Kate Winslet plays a detective who has to solve a murder in a small village. The first reviews are already very positive.
