BRATISLAVA. Slovak football champion ŠK Slovan Bratislava sealed the engagement of English striker Andre Green from Sheffield Wednesday by signing a two-year contract with a two-year option.
This is the first engagement outside the British Isles for a 23-year-old winger.
We can’t wait for the premiere in Tehelná pole
“I am very happy to have become a player of Slovan Bratislava. My first visit to the stadium on Tehelné pole took my breath away. It is clear that the stadium is brand new and at the highest level. I really can’t wait to play it for the first time.

I’m also looking forward to the fans and especially to the European or derby matches, the atmosphere is still a little different than in England. I believe that our fans will come in retaliation with Olympiakos in as many numbers as possible, “Green told Slovana’s club website.

Green represented England in the under-16 and under-20 categories. He is a pupil of Aston Villa, where he tried out the Premier League, and in the spring of 2019 he helped the parent club to return to the elite.
In the Championship he played for Portsmouth, Preston, Charlton or Sheffield Wednesday.

He wants to bring something different to the league
“Going to another country is a natural part of football. I guess I should have left the British Isles once and tried football elsewhere. I see Slovan as a big and right step for my career.
One hundred percent biggest motivation was the opportunity to play regularly for trophies in Europe. I am convinced that the club can still grow, and if I contribute to that, I will be proud and happy, “said the wingman.

He added a brief description of his playing style:
“I’m a winger, I can play on the left and right. I want to bring with me the English style of football, energy, physical side, opening the field. Once I’m on the ball, I try to do something that will make people happy to get up from their seats.
Of course, it is not possible at every event, but I want to help the team and please people. The Premier League is an extremely difficult and demanding competition.
I want to bring something from English football here and I also expect that Slovak football will show me something new. I look forward to this experience. I believe that I will bring something different to the Slovak league. “
Green will wear the number 19 jersey in Slovan.
