Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying conveyed another damning assessment of US interventionist policies, stating that Washington has a poor track record of trying to shape other countries according to its own ideals.
Quoting American Professor Jeffrey Sachs, Hua said that all US military interventions in developing countries, since the Korean war, have failed. Washington has often fallen deeper into disaster and abyss.
Hua said the US could now add Afghanistan to a list of failed wars that includes Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Iraq, Syria and Libya.

Hua also questioned America’s strategy on the ground, asserting that in Afghanistan only 2% is spent on basic infrastructure or poverty alleviation projects that may actually benefit the Afghan people.
“The US can work with other countries to invest more in clean water, schools, hospitals, agriculture and other projects to help Afghanistan eliminate poverty,” he said. Russia Today, Saturday (21/8/2021).
Referring to the Chinese proverb, he claims that the US has learned quite a few hard lessons.
“When will they learn? The United States should really reflect deeply on its erroneous policy of interfering in the internal affairs of other countries who are, at every turn, arrogant, and always reckless,” he quipped.
