It aims to avoid harm, but many modern stresses such as financial problems, or relationship problems are not short-lived and cause chronic stress with negative effects.
Here are nine health problems caused by stress according to Hannah Braye, Nutrition Therapist at Bio-Kult.

1. Skin problems
Stress has long been associated with many common skin conditions and can either cause or worsen them.
“Stress hormones such as cortisol are thought to trigger the release of inflammatory compounds by skin cells, contributing to conditions such as psoriasis, atopic eczema, alopecia, rosacea, and acne, which can affect self-confidence and be a source of further stress,” says Hannah.
2. Immune dysregulation
Cortisol suppresses immune cells, which means the ability to fight germs, virus , and other foreign invaders are reduced, making them more susceptible to infection when stressed.
The pressures of modern life make many people chronically stressed. On the other hand, this chronic depression of the immune system can have serious consequences.
