The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences indicated that only people who provide a negative Covid-19 test with who are already vaccinated will be able to attend next month’s Primetime Emmys and Creative Arts Emmy Awards galas.
According to Deadline, this year’s ceremonies will be limited to inviting only their nominees and one guest for each of them due to the outbreak of infections that has occurred this summer due to the Delta variant of the virus.
The Academy has worked with Los Angeles health officials to expedite plans for its next events, which will be three galas for the Creative Arts, to be held between September 11 and 12, and the Primetime, for September 19 .
All four events are expected to take place in an air-conditioned tent on the Event Deck at LA LIVE, a venue directly behind the Microsoft Theater.
The award-making body also indicated that it will move the Outstanding Variety Sketch Series and Outstanding Variety Special Sketch categories to the Primetime Emmy broadcast, even though they had previously been announced as Creative Arts categories.
The Creative Arts galas will be released into a single program airing September 18 on FX, and the Primetime Emmys will air live on September 19 at 8:00 PM EDT.
