The streets “Im Weizenacker” and Riedenerstrasse in Dietlikon will be renovated from summer 2021.
In the summer of 2021, the street “Im Weizenacker” (section Steinackerstrasse to Eichenbühlweg) is to be partially renewed. As part of the project, the roadway (including markings) and the water pipes will be replaced. In addition, the inside of the mixed sewage system is being renovated and a new EW pipe system is being built in the sidewalk area.
Construction work will begin at the end of August. A construction time of around 12 weeks is expected. The municipal council has approved a loan of 920,000 francs for the implementation of the project at the expense of the 2021 investment calculation.
Detailed planning showed that the street needed more renovation work
When budgeting, the municipal utilities assumed that only the pavement had to be replaced on the road and that no suitcase replacement would be necessary. The detailed planning showed that this assumption was wrong. The case must also be replaced, which creates additional costs. In the case of wastewater, costs can be saved by renovating the inside of the sewer.
The renovation of the street “Im Weizenacker” is included in the investment budget for 2021 and was approved by the municipal assembly as part of the budget approval. The municipal council is obliged to carry out the work in the course of the proper maintenance of value. In addition, there is no significant scope for decision-making with regard to the implementation in terms of content, time or location. The additional costs are therefore considered to be bound expenses.
Partial renovation of Riedenerstrasse from autumn 2021
The third part of Riedenerstrasse, between Gerenstrasse and Loorenstrasse, is to be partially renovated in autumn 2021. In this stage, the lane is renewed and traffic safety is optimized with traffic measures and markings.
In addition, the interior of the mixed sewage system is being renovated and a supplementary EW pipe system is planned. Construction is scheduled to start in September 2021. A construction time of around 16 weeks is expected. The surface covering and the interior renovation of the sewer system are expected to be carried out in spring 2022. For this project, the municipal council approved a loan of 592,000 francs on the 2021 investment calculation.
