Sidoarjo Regency Government prepares low-interest capital loans for MSMEs

Sidoarjo (ANTARA) – The government of Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, has prepared low-interest capital loans for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sidoarjo Regent Ahmad Muhdlor Ali in Sidoarjo, Wednesday, said the interest on capital loans given to SMEs was only 3 percent a year.

“This assistance is expected to help business actors to continue to exist in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have prepared capital loans with three percent interest, specifically for MSME players,” he said.

With the soft loan, the Sidoarjo Regency Government has prepared a budget of around Rp36 billion which will be allocated in the Regional People’s Business Credit (Kurda) program through BPR Delta Artha.

However, the regent said, the realization of the program still has to wait for approval from the Sidoarjo Regency Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD).

“This program still has to wait for the approval of the council (DPRD Sidoarjo) at the time of the 2021 APBD PAK,” he said.

He said Sidoarjo Regency is an area that has many MSMEs, so the government should intervene to help the economic drivers of the community.

“Hopefully, as COVID-19 cases begin to sag, our economy will quickly rise again,” he said.

From existing data, currently the number of positive COVID-19 patients in Sidoarjo Regency is 23,454 people, then 20,828 people have recovered and 879 people have died.
