Rooftop bars are the most popular summer locations in every city. Now Freiburg im Breisgau is getting a very special highlight with the new “Rooftop Bar powered by Breuninger x Geldermann”, which was officially opened on August 16, 2021.
On over 200 square meters there are 75 seats, distributed in spacious sitting areas with inviting gray lounge furniture, tables and chairs in anthracite complement the stylish, modern design. Lush green plants and flower islands screen the individual seating areas from each other and allow privacy. White ball lamps in Parisian bistro style and large Geldermann parasols create a luxurious ambience. The seating is deliberately kept airy, the Breuninger x Geldermann Rooftop Bar can accommodate up to 120 people.
Drinks with a view
In addition to the fantastic view of the cathedral, the Breuninger x Geldermann Rooftop Bar offers a wide range of drinks. The Geldermann line Les Premiers, the high quality of the Les Grands line and also rarities such as the vintage sparkling wines and limited editions offer something for every taste. “The Breuninger x Geldermann Rooftop Bar has the right ambience for our premium sparkling wine,” says Marc Gauchey, Chef de Cave at Geldermann. “Just like us, Breuninger has high standards for tradition and quality. In addition, there is our regional ties, because the Geldermann headquarters in Breisach is practically around the corner from Freiburg, so it almost feels like our ‘house bar’ here. “
Selected wines, long drinks, highballs and non-alcoholic drinks such as homemade lemonades and iced teas complete the menu. The choice of dishes is sustainable, light and changes seasonally. For example, hummus with toppings, antipasti, classics from the Breuninger confectionery and creative waffle dishes are served. In addition, there will always be special events, such as an oyster tasting with selected wines and harp sounds on September 18. In Advent, the rooftop bar becomes a Christmas market and offers Christmas food and drinks.
