The Central Statistics Agency announced that Indonesia’s trade balance in July experienced a surplus. The surplus occurs because exports are more than imports.
Head of the Central Statistics Agency, Margo Yuwono, said exports in July on a month-to-month basis compared to June fell 4.52%. However, it increased year to year compared to the same period last year by 29.32%.
“The export value in July 2021 reached US$ 17.70 billion. It decreased 4.52% compared to June. Meanwhile, if we look at yoy compared to July 2021 and July 2020, yoy, our exports still increased significantly by 29.32%,” he said at the conference. virtual press, Wednesday (18/8/2021).
Meanwhile, imports in July reached US$ 15.11 billion. On a month-to-month basis, imports fell 12.22% compared to June.
“This July’s import value, if I compare it to July 2020, imports are still growing by 44.44 percent. In detail, both are still experiencing an increase,” he said.
Thus, Indonesia’s trade balance in July experienced a surplus of US$ 2.59 billion. This is because exports are greater than imports.
