As every year, the Federation of General Student Associations (FAGE) and Fédélor (Student Federation of Lorraine) simultaneously published their national and regional studies on the cost of the start of the student year. The Fedélor focused on Lorraine where a student is a little better off than in Île de France. FAGE estimates that the budget for this new school year in the region will amount to an average of € 2,275 against € 2,566 in Paris. The surplus is mainly due to the amount of rents which weigh on average 22% in the budget of a provincial student.
For its part, Fédélor has broadened its scope of study this year. In its report, it included all the sites of the University of Lorraine, no longer limited to the three large cities of Épinal, Nancy and Metz.
