Deus continues without guitarist Bruno De Groote after stroke…

Guitarist Bruno De Groote, who had a stroke last year, no longer plays with the Belgian rock group Deus. He played in the formation around Tom Barman since 2018. Mauro Pawlowski, who was previously a guitarist with Deus for twelve years, will replace him for the upcoming performances. The group itself announced this on Facebook and Instagram.

‘Unfortunately, Bruno had a stroke last year and his life as a guitarist in a rock band suddenly seemed far from ideal’, writes Deus. “This year we decided together as a band that it’s best to go our separate ways. Thank you Bruno for all the fantastic times we had together.’

Tom Barman and his friends immediately announced the return of Deus icon Mauro Pawlowski on Facebook and Instagram. ‘Deus will play at Leuven Air next Saturday. Mauro Pawlowski will join us on guitar for some shows.” Mauro will also be present at Crammerock on September 4.

From 2004 to 2016, Mauro was already a guitarist with the Belgian rock group known for the hits ‘Roses’, ‘The Architect’ and ‘Quatre Mains’.
