The Chartrains prepare at altitude

The recipe had smiled on him during the 2019-2020 season, despite the interruption of the championship for Covid in March. In the summer of 2019, the CCBM had carried out a preparation course in the alpine resort of SuperDévoluy. In 2019, the CCBM was coming out of a painful year when it had failed to maintain itself in ProB. The need for oxygenation had done him great good. This is why the staff led by Sébastien Lambert decided to reproduce the same experience by returning to the Hautes-Alpes. History to forget the disappointing 4th place of the last exercise and to prepare at best a group renewed at 70% in the offseason.
The CCBM of coach Sébastien Lambert, in place since 2016, has turned a page by not extending the emblematic leader Olivier Romain (who remained 5 years), who left for Caen, a declared candidate for the rise in ProB. The other notorious departure is from inside US Du’Vaughn Maxwell, MVP in 2020.

Vengeful players

To replace these two “monsters” in particular, the Chartres staff recruited the leader Kévin Thalien, who is coming out of a disappointing season with Angers, then the combo Paul Bouloukouet (GET Vosges) who will give a helping hand on the external post to the “ survivor ”Yann Siegwarth, who transplanted for a third season in the Beauceron club.
Captain and pivot Patrick Clerence also resigned to Chartres, he who has been part of the furniture since 2016, despite a six-month infidelity in 2018 when he had joined Boulogne-sur-Mer. At his side, we will find Valentin Mukuna. This solid pivot had worn the chartrain jersey during the 2014-2015 season. The Parisian was only 21 years old and was discovering the level. Since then, he has traveled well in N1 (Saint-Vallier, Andrézieux, Besançon, Orchies and La Rochelle). He will bring his experience to a group that will always speak American with winger Steven Green, who was worth 14.3 points with Andrézieux.

A Spanish novelty

The linguistic and stylist novelty will be at post 4 with the Spaniard Federico Ucles. The Iberian will be associated with Mounir Bernaoui, also revenge after a poor season with Avignon (13th out of 14).
Finally, the youth will have to make their ardor speak with Ugo Doumbia (18 years old), Olivier Kabongo (19 years old) and Christopher Békoulé (25 years old), already at the club, and where the Chartrain Antoine Fardin (18 years old) joined them, in from the Blois training center.
All these little people will therefore get to know each other during this week at high altitude in order to come back fresh for a year placed under the sign of hope, that of a return to ProB.
