In Bratislava, not far from the stadium at Pasienky, on Tuesday the management of the Slovak Handball Association (SZH) ceremoniously opened a new sports hall.
In recent months, several interstate handball meetings have already taken place in it, but its official opening has only come now. The importance of the new stand for SZH is also increased by the fact that it will house a permanent exhibition of the Hall of Fame of SZH, to which 48 personalities have already introduced in the past 10 years.
“We are looking forward to the fact that something like this has succeeded, because in the last twenty years, sports venues have rather been disrupted and liquidated, not only in Bratislava. The fact that a new hall was created is one of the pleasing points. , but it’s more in the rescue of sports in Slovakia. The hall on Junácká Street is the property of SZH, but it is not exclusively intended for handball. “We presented to the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic a pilot project of a double hall, which is for all indoor sports, but not only team, but also individual. During the week it is used for training and on weekends for matches.” added Holeš to the multi-purpose use of the new sports ground.
Participants in the January European Handball Championships will also experience this. “This is also the reason why she grew up here and not somewhere else. Bratislava will host two basic groups in January 2022 with the participation of eight teams, to whom we must provide training facilities for at least an hour every day. We do not have another handball hall in the capital. “Only pastures that are in long-term reconstruction. So we’re glad we made it and we don’t have to be ashamed of it in front of a Spanish, Swedish or German team.” remarked the head of SZH.
The new hall in the Slovak capital was also welcomed by representatives of sports in Slovakia. “It’s great that a new sports stand has been built.
