Vacation at home with beer yoga and music

Various workshops related to the program from Friday to Sunday had already been offered from Monday to Thursday. Beer yoga was on the agenda on Friday. The so-called beer yogis were led through the course on the meadow with slogans such as “We breathe in our beer belly” and “Don’t shower our neighbors!” The participants laughed a lot, even if they spilled a lot of beer while balancing. Swana Schünemann lost her balance at one point or another: “I have never combined beer and yoga before, but it was a lot of fun.” After the beer yoga, various artists excited the visitors on the so-called open stage.

Around 300 young people, all of whom had been assigned a permanent place, let the atmospheric evening end with music on their picnic blankets.

At the Open Catwalk on Saturday, emphasis was placed on diversity and sustainable fashion. This was followed by a poetry slam with the pop musician Relya Voy from Essen. The so-called team text performance, i.e. appearing as a team, was about experience with catcalling, abuse and rape. “I had goosebumps,” said Relya Voy to the appearance of three students from Pelizaeus-Gymnasium.

Saturday evening was also dominated by music. The Paderborn dance group House of Ra heated up the atmosphere before the band Letters Sent Home ended the program. “When the band started playing, I noticed how much I missed live performances,” said pop music and media student Leonie.

On Sunday it continued with an action on the topic of sustainability. More than 1000 festival tickets were sold by the company ticketree. 50 cents per ticket will benefit the afforestation in Germany, so that more than 100 trees can now be planted with the money.

Organizer Celine Kessler: “It’s good to experience something together and live after a long time. ‘Staycation’ was organized by young people for young people and we are proud of that. “

The event was sponsored by the Paderborn Cultural Office, the LAG Kunst & Medien association and the Socioculture Fund. Susanne Kirchner from the Cultural Office is counting on a new edition in the coming year: “Thanks to the festival, visitors have been able to experience young culture in Paderborn for a long time. It is important to promote young culture in particular. Digitality cannot replace real life, you noticed that this weekend. “
