THE BALL – Felix Brych whistles Benfica-PSV (Champions League)

UEFA has appointed German referee Felix Brych to lead Wednesday’s match between Benfica and PSV Eindhoven at the Estádio da Luz in the first leg of the Champions League play-offs.

Brych, 46 years old and international since 2007, will be assisted by compatriots Mark Borsch and Stefan Lupp, with Marco Fritz taking the role of video referee.

The last game that Brych whistled for Benfica was the defeat against PAOK (1-2), in the third qualifying round of the Champions League, last season. In 2014 he was also in the Europa League final that the reds lost to Sevilla.
