The French women’s handball team has just won gold at the Tokyo Olympics. Did you know that it was partly made up of players who are currently students in the French Grandes Ecoles? EDHEC, emlyon, Audencia SciencesCom, Grenoble EM… Discover the career of these high-level sportswomen!

More and more high-level athletes are being trained in Grandes Écoles to prepare for the “aftermath”. At the Tokyo Olympics, nearly sixty French athletes were graduates or students in these higher education institutions.

The end of the 2020 Olympic Games is marked by the great victory of the Bleues in handball who are now Olympic champions. Several of the team’s players are currently students in business or communication Grandes Ecoles, proof that sport and studies are not incompatible.

The sports and academic career of Allison Pineau, student at EDHEC

Allison Pineau was born in Chartres in 1989. She began her junior career in 2001, at CM Aubervilliers, then at Villemomble Handball. As a senior, in 2006, she played in France, then internationally, notably in North Macedonia, Slovenia and Montenegro. She has been a member of the France team since 2007 and is currently a center-half at ŽRK Budućnost Podgorica (Montenegro).

His record is impressive. In the French team, she has scored more than 600 goals in 14 years. She is also world champion (2017) and European champion (2018). At the Rio Olympics (2016), she won silver with the France team, but it was gold that she won at the Tokyo Olympics.

On the academic side, Allison Pineau has chosen the BBA from EDHEC. She joined it in 2018 and specialized in finance. She follows the online course, allowing her to combine studies and high-level sports practice.

The sporting and academic career of Béatrice Edwige, student at emlyon

Béatrice Edwige is currently a student at emlyon. She follows the Executive Master Management General Online, a training popular with many top athletes. Here again, she chooses an online course, allowing her to progress at her own pace and not to abandon her sport or her studies.

On the handball side, Béatrice Edwige has nourished a passion for this sport since her adolescence. Born in Paris in 1988, she grew up in Guyana before returning to France at the age of 11. She joined HBC-Celles-sur-Belles in 2008, then continued at Cercle Dijon-Bourgogne between 2009 and 2014. That year, she joined OGC Nice Handball, which she left in 2016 for Metz Handball. Since 2019, she has been working for Győri ETO KC, a Hungarian club.

Member of the France team since 2013, the student of emlyon obtained silver at the Rio Olympics, before winning gold in Tokyo in 2021. She is also European champion (2018) and champion of the world (2017). In the 2018-2019 European Championship, Béatrice Edwige was voted best pivot of the season.

The sports and academic career of Coralie Lassource, student at Grenoble EM

Coralie Lassource is one of 11 Grenoble EM graduates and students to participate in the Tokyo Olympics. She is currently following the BTS Management Commercial Operation course within the business school. She joined the school in 2020 and will graduate in 2023. Her career path is obviously adapted to her sporting practice.

On the sport side, Coralie Lassource has been practicing handball in a club since 2008. She joined Issy Paris Hand as a junior until 2012. She continues in this same club as a senior until 2017, before going to Hungary. Since 2019, she has been working in Brest Bretagne.

On the national scene, Coralie Lassource joined the French handball team in 2015. The student from Grenoble EM thus participated in obtaining the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021. She is from elsewhere captain of the French women’s handball team.

The sports and academic career of Estelle Nze Minko, a graduate of Audencia SciencesCom

Estelle Nze Minko was born in 1991 in Loire-Atlantique. This top athlete started playing handball at the age of 12. In 2005, she joined the Pôle Espoir de Segré and Nantes LAH. She left the club in 2009 to join, as a senior, Toulouse Féminin HB. Over the years, Estelle Nze Minko will evolve in various French clubs until 2016 when she leaves for Hungary. Since 2019, she has been playing at Győri ETO KC with Béatrice Edwige.

Estelle Nze Minko has been playing for the French women’s handball team since 2014. She has scored more than 250 goals with this Les Bleues. She was also part of France’s victory at the 2018 European Championship and the 2017 World Championship. She also won silver in Rio in 2016, before claiming gold in Tokyo 2020.

In terms of studies, Estelle Nze Minko has chosen toAudencia SciencesCom. She wanted to study communication and the media within the establishment’s bachelor’s degree. She joined the school in 2014, which is also located in Nantes, where she is from.

In parallel with her studies and her sports career, Estelle Nze Minko founded The V Box in October 2019. This company offers monthly boxes that highlight products made by women entrepreneurs.
