Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) Levels in Java-Bali will end today, Monday (16/8). Government So far, it has not been decided what the future of PPKM will be in Java-Bali.
PPKM Levels 4, 3, and 2 have been implemented for the past four weeks. Initially, the government implemented Emergency PPKM on July 3-20 after a spike in Covid-19 cases.
Then the government used the term PPKM Level 4 on 20-25 July, continued on 26 July-2 August, 3-9 August, and 10-16 August this was the fourth extension.
Meanwhile, the extension of PPKM Level 4 in 45 regencies/cities outside Java-Bali is still ongoing and will be decided again on 23 August. Evaluation of PPKM outside Java-Bali will be conducted every two weeks.
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan previously said there were good results during the implementation of PPKM Levels 4, 3, and 2 in Java-Bali last August 10-16.
Therefore, the government has opened a number of activities, including malls in DKI Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, and Surabaya.
In the Minister of Home Affairs Number 30 of 2021 concerning PPKM Levels 4, 3, and 2 Covid-19 in the Java-Bali Region, it is stated that trials of implementing health protocols in shopping centers or malls are allowed to operate with a maximum of 25 percent of visitors.
In Jakarta, the government has again implemented odd-even during the PPKM Level 4. Odd-even period has been implemented since Thursday (12/8) at eight points in the capital city.
The odd-even application is carried out instead of the PPKM blocking posts at 100 points in a number of roads in DKI. Besides DKI, odd-even trials have also begun in Bandung.
During the last PPKM period, positive cases and deaths were still high. As of Sunday (15/8), 20,813 people were positive and 1,222 people died in a day.
