“If the money is valid, the value is as stated,” Junanto said to Kompas.com, Friday (13/8/2021).
Junanto said that his party did not buy and sell the money in question.
Even if there is an exchange of money that has been withdrawn from circulation, BI will replace it at the nominal amount of the money exchanged.

Through its official Twitter account, BI explained that if people buy money for collections (not transactions), then the price of the money depends on the agreement of the buyer and seller.
BI also confirmed that the nominal value of the Rp 1000 palm oil coin was still the same as long as it had not been withdrawn.
