Hospital in Lebanon overwhelmed and unable to deal with the victims who were seriously injured in the incident fuel tank explosion. They had to be hospitalized overseas to save his life.
Lebanese Health Minister Hamad Hassan said cases of severe burns may require prompt treatment abroad to save the lives of the victims.
“We need urgent help to evacuate some of the injured overseas… there are cases (of burns) beyond the capacity of Lebanese hospitals to handle,” he said.
It is known that according to an official of the Islamic Medical Association, Rashid Maqsood, some of the burn victims are currently being sent to a hospital near Tripoli. While others were sent to Beirut.
The explosion occurred Sunday morning local time in the town of Altalil, in the Akkar region, which is one of the poorest areas in Lebanon. The exact cause of the explosion is not yet known, which adds to the chaotic condition of Lebanon after it was declared an economic crisis by the World Bank.
“About 200 people were nearby at the time of the explosion,” the witness said.
Now there are 22 people killed and 79 others suffered burns. From a number of victims, it is known that there are military personnel and security forces.
According to military and security sources, the soldiers had confiscated a fuel storage tank hidden by traffickers and were distributing gasoline to residents when the explosion occurred.
