Schalke and HSV stumble, Regensburg marches. The world is turned upside down in the 2nd Bundesliga . After three game days, the Bavarian almost relegated from the previous season leads the table.
Second division surprise team Jahn Regensburg exploited the problems of the major clubs and shot their way to the top of the table with a brilliant victory on matchday three.
The almost relegated last season dped Holstein Kiel and inflicted the third defeat in the third game on third in the previous season in a clear 3-0 (2-0). Jahn, on the other hand, is still at the top with nine points without conceding a goal.
Goals from football professional Max Besuschkow (20th minute) and captain Benedikt Gimber (40th / 58th) made the team of coach Mersad Selimbegovic cheer in front of 4000 spectators in Kiel. The Strche, on the other hand, experience a complete false start and are unexpectedly at the bottom of the table with zero points.
Newcomers Dresden strong
With the victory in the north, Regensburg also left Karlsruher SC behind for the time being, which had also won the first two games. On Saturday, the KSC did not get beyond a goalless draw in the Baden derby at SV Sandhausen.
Promoted Dynamo Dresden remained unbeaten in the third game. Coach Alexander Schmidt’s team defeated Hannover 96 2-0 (0-0) on Saturday evening and held their own with seven points in the top quartet. The guests from Lower Saxony, on the other hand, are still waiting for their first win of the season. Christoph Daferner (47th minute) and Sebastian Mai (82nd) scored the goals for the Saxons in front of 13,780 spectators in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium.
The first win of the season was also won by 1. FC Nürnberg, who beat Fortuna Dsseldorf 2-0 (0-0). Christopher Schindler (59.) scored with the back of the head after a free kick and captain Enrico Valentini in the eighth minute of stoppage time with a penalty kick in front of a good 12,000 spectators for the club, which was still unbeaten in the young season. Fortuna, however, received their second defeat in their second game under their new coach Christian Preuer.
HSV lost the derby
On Friday the big clubs FC Schalke 04 and once again Hamburger SV got to know the problems of the league. For the 20th anniversary of the arena on Schalke, around 20,000 fans of the relegated team were shocked to a sobering 1-1 at the late equalization by FC Erzgebirge Aue. No team will give us anything for free. This league is extremely tough, commented Schalke coach Dimitrios Grammozis after Dominick Drexler’s goals (32nd) for Schalke and Sascha Hrtel (86th) for Aue. Thus, the battered Revierclub remained after the 1: 3 against HSV in the second home game of the season after relegation without a three-point.
Hamburg also experienced a bitter evening at 2: 3 in the derby at the still undefeated FC St. Pauli. HSV is still not on track under the new coach Tim Walter. St. Pauli seemed more closed. We now have to go deeper into the analysis, because it wasn’t all bad, especially in the final phase, said Walter, who has only four points on the account with the Hamburgers and Schalke after three games.
