The two tourists first called the police at 13.21 on Saturday morning that their car had been stolen.
– We thought this sounded strange. Viksdalen is not exactly burdened with crime and car thefts, so we asked them to look a bit, says operations manager Eivind Hellesund.
Ten minutes later, the tourists called in again. Then they had found the car in a river nearby.
– I would think that they forgot to put on the break, or that something else technical has happened. This will at least be an insurance case, Hellesund continues.
Police have ordered car salvage at the scene. Hellesund does not know where the tourists came from.
No people were injured.
