HERMOSILLO, Sonora.- With only 4 years old, Maria Regina Serrano has had to face various battles in order to cure the complex heart disease with which he was born, but before the severity of your condition it is no longer possible to follow your treatment in Mexico, so will be transferred to Boston Childen Hospital, in the United States.
“Regina has Down Syndrome and from the age of six months she had her first heart operation and due to the same problem she had several difficulties,” said Fernanda Urcádiz, a close friend of Regina’s mother.
“Right now his state of health is already serious, it is unfortunately already delicate, and they told us that he had to operate urgently,” he added.

He withstood an open heart operation
The youngest was born with a condition called the complete atrial ventricular canal, of which she was operated for the first time with an open heart at six months of age, unfortunately this did not solve the problem.
Currently, she continues with his heart compromised for the disease, and before the lack of treatments in the country, the family decided to look for options in other parts of the world, Being the Boston Children Hospital where they found the surgery that the little girl needs, but it has a cost of 200 thousand dollars.
“Here there is no possibility of operating on her, so they would have to go to the United States at the end of August to operate on her, because they request that the girl be monitored by doctors due to the severity of her diagnosis,” Urcádiz explained.
“We are all trying not to stop being positive, I see their parents motivated, excited because they have received the support of many people, and that makes us believe that this will be possible,” he commented.
An end for María Regina
To raise funds, the family started the project “Un Fin por María Regina”, in which they invite entrepreneurs from different walks of life to join the cause, and donate a percentage of all sales that take place on the weekend of 21 and August 22nd.
“The invitation is to all businessmen in Sonora who want to join, regardless of the line of business, they decide what percentage to donate, of what is sold or consumed on Saturday the 21st or Sunday the 22nd,” Urcádiz explained.
“For the campaign, a single image was made and everyone who wants to participate can send us their logo, regardless of the percentage they want to donate, we will be inviting people to consume or buy, and once the weekend is over, they make the donation through the Go Found Me page, “he explained.
So far there are already 8 companies that have signed up to participate, but they hope that many more will join this cause, and thus, Regina can grow up healthy and happy with her parents.
