According to him, AMD or age-related macular degeneration is a disease that attacks the macula in the population over 50 years. AMD affects 8.7 percent of the population aged 50 years and over.
“The macula is the center of vision, as we age, this disease also gets worse,” Elvioza said in an online seminar, Thursday (12/8/2021).

Dry AMD
-Frequently found (85-90 percent).
-Rarely causes vision loss.
-There is no cure, but progress can be slowed with supplements.
AMD Wet
-Less to find.
-Development of about 15 percent of cases of Dry AMD.
-Accounts for 90 percent of cases of severe vision loss.
