The economist, who has been Quebec delegate in Chicago since June 2019, will begin his new duties next week.
Martine Hébert was Senior Vice-President and National Spokesperson for the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) and she was also President of her own public affairs firm for almost 10 years.
She will replace Catherine Loubier who had been appointed to this position in February 2019 by François Legault.
The Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie, Nadine Girault, congratulated Martine Hébert on Twitter:
“Congratulations to Martine Hébert who becomes our general delegate in New York! Thank you for the amazing job in Chicago. I have full confidence that you will be able to take up this new challenge brilliantly, ”said the Minister.
The general delegate of Quebec in New York also reacted to her nomination on social media, she said she was very happy and honored to join the fantastic team of Quebec in New York.
“Thank you François Legault and Nadine Girault for their trust. It is a real pleasure to participate in the advancement of the economic interests of Quebec and of our businesses among our partners in the United States, ”wrote Martine Hébert on Twitter.
