Montañana gets even closer to its neighbors through YouTube – Zaragoza

‘Catch up with Cristina Vargas‘. This is the name of the YouTube channel that the mayor of the rural neighborhood of Montañana. I had the feeling that information was sometimes lost or did not reach all the neighbors. So he has decided to contact all of them through this platform through which, week by week, he provides service information to his neighbors. A clear example is the last of the videos you have published this past wednesday.

How did you come up with this idea? Cristina Vargas herself has told us about it on the microphones of COPE Zaragoza: “I have been thinking for a long time, as mayor, what I can do to reach all the neighbors in a place like Montañana where there are many scattered houses and, sometimes, it is difficult to reach all of them. We had the Neighborhood Councils, posters, but still there was no…”.

So, taking the example of her daughter – who also has a YouTube channel – she decided to reach her neighbors through these videos. “Today everyone has a mobile and from it you can see the channels, Social Networks, Facebook …”. And what does the mayor say in these videos ?: “My idea is to give information to the neighbors, that is my main objective. Give guidelines on certain topics, such as, for example, in the last one I posted that talks about citizen security and squatting, or explain how a Neighborhood Board works … “.
