Elias Pettersson: “Feeling stronger now”

He has not played a match since March 2 due to a wrist injury that caused him to miss more than 30 matches.

After intensive rehab, Elias Pettersson is now back on track.

– It took an incredibly long time to heal, longer than I thought. But today it feels great. I train too hard and shoot too hard, it has healed to one hundred percent, says the Vancouver star, who has benefited from the recovery time.

– I feel stronger now I would say. I have been doing rehab all summer so in that way I feel stronger.

“Got some attention”

The training has also yielded results in the comments on social media.

A picture from the Greek holiday with friends in July is gossiping that muscle mass has increased.

– Yes, it got a little attention, it was a little fun. You have trained a lot this summer, it’s fun to see some results, it has not done before (laughs).

What do you say about the attention?

– It’s just fun, but I do not do it for Instagram but to be able to play as good hockey as possible.

With a couple of months left until the NHL premiere, the 22-year-old is without a contract as the parties still have not agreed.

– It’s not close to sajna. It is still a discussion but I have my agents working on it, says Elias Pettersson to TT.

Welcome OEL

Last season did not turn out at all as Pettersson or Vancouver intended. The club missed the playoffs for the fifth time in six years and in the interview with SVT Sport, Pettersson emphasizes that he is hungry for revenge.

Before the season, he will also be joined by new players in the team, including Swedish Oliver Ekman-Larsson who leaves Arizona after eleven seasons.

– I have played with him several times in the national team, you know him well. Then we played in the same division as well. But it is better to have him in the same team, says Pettersson.

For his own part, Elias Pettersson has the goal clear:

– I always have high expectations of myself. Now I just want the season to start, I long to play hockey again. We did not get it together last year, shit happens, but I look forward to next season. It looks promising. Hopefully we can start the season on the right foot.
