TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Vietnam have agreed clinical trial against herbal medicine Covid-19, Vipdervir, produced by Academy of Science and Technology (VAST).
Mentioned, Vipdervir is an herbal product that is used to prevent and cure diseases caused by RNA viruses, such as the corona virus.
At the moment, Vipdervir prepared in the form of hard capsules.
Reporting from VN Epress, Research associate professor of the Institute of Biotechnology Dr Le Quang Huan said, Vipdervir made entirely of herbs and contains active ingredients that are able to block the target molecules involved in the invasion and replication of the corona virus in the human body.
“Vipdervie contains ingredients that activate cells in the immune system to help strengthen the patient’s resistance,” said Le Quang Huan, who is also a senior researcher at the Institute of Biotechnology under VAST.

The herbal ingredients of this hard capsule product include green chiretta, fish mint, Baikal skullcap, cloves, ginger and licorice.
Thailand has also recently approved green chiretta for use in medicine Covid-19 in that country.
VAST Vice President and Head of the Institute of Biotechnology, Chu Hoang Ha, said Vietnam has many drugs extracted from herbs, but this is the first to have passed pre-clinical research.
It is also the first to be approved by the Ministry of Health’s Biomedical Research Ethical Evaluation Committee and allowed to enter clinical trial to treat patients Covid-19.
