Hakim Ziyech can’t play full fight in victory Chelsea on Villarreal from European Super Cup. Ziyech has a serious injury.
Chelsea vs Villarreal took place at Windsor Park, Thursday (12/8/2021) early morning WIB. Chelsea came with the status of champions of the Champions League and Villarreal were champions of the Europa League.
The English team managed to take the lead in the first half through Ziyech. The Moroccan winger then had to be withdrawn before half-time after sustaining an arm injury following a duel with Juan Foyth.
“If you take a player out in the first half it’s serious. It’s a shame, he was the decisive player in the game,” Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel told BT Sport.
Villarreal managed to equalize the score to 1-1 in the second half through Gerard Moreno. The match then continued to 2×15 minutes of extra time.
Both teams failed to add a goal during added time. As a result, the winner had to be found on penalties.
Chelsea came out as champions after winning on penalties 6-5. Kai Havertz became Chelsea’s first executor and the only one who failed.
Villarreal failed to take advantage of the opportunity well. After winning, Aissa Mandi as the second shooter for the Yellow Submarine team failed to tear Kepa Arrizabalaga’s goal followed by Raul Albiol as the seventh shooter.
