SOUTH KOREA – LG Electronics (LG) improved its free premium content streaming service LG Channels. This service is available exclusively on LG Smart TVs. These updates include interface design updates, increasing broadcast channel options from 1,600 to 1,900 as well as expanding the variety of entertainment content.
Updates on LG Channels will be gradual. For the time being, it can only be enjoyed by LG Smart TV users who have webOS 5.0 platform support and later versions.

Furthermore, it will be expanded to LG smart TVs with webOS 3.0 and 4.5 operating systems.
Updates on LG Channels were made due to its increasing popularity.
Referring to the company’s internal data, the number of viewers and duration of use of LG Channels has doubled compared to last year.
In addition, the update is related to LG’s efforts to further expand the reach of LG Channels which are now available in 25 countries from the initial 14 countries.
Furthermore, LG Channels is said to be present on more than 30 smart TV brands supported by LG’s webOS TV platform, including Motorola, JVC, Polaroid, and Master-G.
Regarding improvements to the interface, the latest LG Channels design is designed to make it easier for users to navigate between menus in it.
