Compostela QR: The “Compostela” can now be stamped with a QR code | Radio Vigo

The International Pilgrim Reception Center this morning welcomed the official launch of the Pilgrim’s Digital Credential, a mobile application that will allow pilgrims to carry their Camino de Santiago credential on their electronic device, with which to certify their pilgrimage and obtain the Compostela by scanning QR codes that they will find at different points of their itinerary such as parishes and hostels.

This new tool is part of the process of improve the pilgrim experience through the implementation of initiatives “Like this one that are part of the process of digitization and implementation of a safe path”.

All the participants in the event agreed to highlight that the app does not replace the traditional credential, Rather, it complements it, with the aim of improving the pilgrimage experience in terms of avoiding non-essential interpersonal contacts and speeding up sealing.

In addition, the application, which is now available for download for Android and iOS devices and in different languages, allows you to know in advance the flow of walkers arriving at the Pilgrim’s Office, which will help to improve the attention and flow of pilgrims who gather to collect the Compostela, avoiding queues.

This new tool is part of the digital transformation process of the Pilgrim’s Office that also recently launched a online registration system, which allows the pilgrim to enter in advance the necessary data to obtain the Compostela, avoiding the manipulation of paper.
