It was a bag. Last night, at nine o’clock, the app had Abandoned get an update on PlayStation 5 and through it we had to see the game in action. Fans were waiting for a full revelation. And they waited and waited… To finally see only another postponement. So what actually happened? Until 9 p.m., everything looked promising. Just before the planned premiere, a short five-second clip even appeared on the official Blue Box Game Studios Twitter account, which is supposed to come directly from the Realtime Experience application.
But instead of an unplayable video streamed to PS5, players were told at 9:14 that there was an unspecified technical issue with the delivery of the patch. The authors wrote that they are working on it and want to put everything into operation as soon as possible. At the same time, they apologized for the complications.
There is a technical issue with the delivery of the patch. We are working to get this live ASAP.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

A moment later the developers informedthat they will let you know as soon as the problem is solved. From this wording, it seemed that this was not something that could be achieved in turn. And that was also confirmed. Another tweet came before midnight, saying that they were still working on the Blue Box bug and apologizing again.
Quick update: we are still working on it. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Whether you consider the whole situation to be sophisticated marketing or just an inconvenience, further postponement the application – and again at the last minute – shed an unflattering light on the team. And if we leave aside the possible disappointment of someone that Abandoned can simply be “only” Abandoned, now some players are clearly openly doubting the abilities of Blue Box.
The founder of the studio, Hasan Kahraman, has been relatively active on Twitter in recent days. Shortly before the planned launch of the application, he was attracted to this event. And even though he didn’t tweet himself, he replied to questions from some players. However, we did not learn anything significant about the game.
What does this mean? Hard to judge. It is unnecessary at this point to speculate whether Abandoned is what the authors claim. We know nothing new. But it was definitely interesting to find out that, according to his Twitter, Shuhei Yoshida from Sony, who is responsible for indie games on the PlayStation, was also going to follow. And in this sense, it seems that Sony probably knows more than we do, but the question is whether in the position of someone directly involved in the whole project would cause such a repeated embarrassment, which from a marketing point of view Abandoned is no longer very beneficial and packs rather negative atmosphere.
From the point of view of the developers, it is not clear where the mistake happened. Undoubtedly, they would not be able to send a similar update for certification at the last minute. So what’s the problem when just before nine o’clock the authors were full of optimism? Did Sony reject it just before the premiere? Then why wouldn’t Yoshida know about it? It is certainly difficult to plan something similar, but on the other hand, it is not possible not to meet the repeatedly promised date.
Taking all the circumstances into account, it is probably no surprise that this only gave rise to further speculation. Just because official Web Blue Box Game Studios is apparently preparing for a new version. Or because of a similar move on the team’s official channel on YouTube, who is now emptying and acting as if a rebranding awaits him. Finally, we prefer to leave without comment the fact that the character who flickers in the published short clip evokes the hero of Silent Hill to the players with his clothes…
