Model project in Gutach.
(BZ). “We want to get away from fossil fuels by 2030”: This goal was expressed by the mayor of Gutach Urban Singler in a conversation with the Waldkirch member of the Green Party, Alexander Schoch.
In the “Alte Ziegelei” development area in the Bleibach district, a bi-directional cold and heat network with an ice store for heating and hot water supply to 36 building connections was implemented a few years ago. The electricity required, including for the pumps in every house, is produced by many owners using photovoltaic systems. The concept was funded with funds from the state program “Climate Protection with System Extra”.
Innovative technologies are also to be used in the energetic renovation of the Zweälerlandschule in Gutach. The model project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The implementation should take place within four years. The Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE) in Freiburg is among the well-known partners. The concept provides for the waste heat from the Elztalbrennerei Weis to be fed into an ice storage system as a low-temperature heat source, which is used as an energy source for heating in winter and as an energy source for cooling the school in summer. The energy is transformed with a heat pump. The urban residential buildings between the school and the distillery are to be included in the project.
Another example of climate protection is the new fire brigade equipment house, where the topping-out ceremony was held in June. This consists largely of wooden components and cellulose insulation and, together with photovoltaics and heating, is a great example of climate-neutral building, emphasized Singler.
