the United States advises against travel to France

The US Department strongly advises Americans against traveling to France for “non-essential” travel, especially unvaccinated people.

The US federal health agency on Monday advised against travel to France and several other countries such as Israel or Iceland, due to the surge in Covid-19 cases in these countries. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has raised to level 4 (very high risk) the health warning against several countries such as Israel, the West Bank, Gaza and French Polynesia.

The US State Department also strongly advised against, on Monday, American travelers to travel to France or Iceland, also classifying these two countries at level 4 in destinations where they should not “travel”. The United States has also expressed its concerns about Croatia, Austria, Kenya and Jamaica. Unvaccinated travelers are strongly encouraged to avoid “non-essential” travel to these countries, the CDC added.

Regarding travel to the United States, a White House official hinted Wednesday that vaccinated travelers could soon travel to the country. Washington would develop a “Phased approach which would mean, with limited exceptions, that all foreign nationals coming to the United States – from all countries – must be fully immunized”, this source told AFP, without giving a timetable.
