Reporting point opened for uninsured damage caused by flooding in Limburg

Private individuals, organizations and companies that suffered damage last month as a result of the flooding in Limburg that is not covered by insurance can now report this. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) has opened a hotline.

The government previously announced that a support scheme would be set up for victims with damage that cannot be recovered. It is not yet clear exactly how and which costs will be reimbursed. The RVO is responsible for the process. According to the organization, victims can already start repair work. It is important that all damage is properly recorded on photo or video 1Limburg.

People can contact the hotline for various types of damage. Damage to the home or contents, damage to machines and damage to crops are covered by the scheme. Also costs for evacuation and other emergency measures can be passed on.

More hotlines

Last week Friday opened a hotline for residents of Limburg who have suffered damage from the floods. They can apply for 1000 euros there. The money was collected via Giro 777 of the National Disaster Fund. Victims have until August 16 to report.

The 1000 euros is separate from the amount that people can claim from their own insurer. Dutch insurers have so far received around 13,000 claims. Most claims come from Valkenburg aan de Geul.
