Nationalgeographic.co.id—A total of 14,000 scientists and 1,990 jurisdictions or territories in 34 countries have issued a stern warning about the condition Earth which keeps getting worse.
Previously, in 2019, 11,258 scientists published reports in the journal BioScience, which alerted the international community to the situation climate emergency that we face. Nearly two years later, the things they say are the same: Earth keep getting worse.
“Deeply disturbing is the increase in climate-related disasters, including the massive 2019-20 Australian fires, and the fact that the three major greenhouse gases — carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide — are setting record atmospheric concentrations in 2020 and again in 2021.” said Thomas Newsome, an ecologist from the University of Sydney who co-authored the warning.
“This is despite the changes during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Newsome said Science Alert.
