Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) confirms that he doesn’t want to hear any more cases bribe licensing process in Indonesia. The reason is, currently, there is an Online Single Submission (OSS) system that can simplify the licensing process.
This was conveyed by Jokowi at the OSS launch event at the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Office, Monday (9/8).
“I don’t want to hear anymore about the difficulties faced by entrepreneurs, I don’t want anyone to take bribes anymore, everything must be done openly, transparently and makes it easier for entrepreneurs,” said Jokowi in his remarks.
Jokowi even asked all parties to report to him if they found government officials who were not clean and tried to profit from the licensing process.
“If there are government officials who are not clean, they try to report it to me,” he said.
Furthermore, according to Jokowi, the reform of the ease of licensing services is aimed at providing ease of doing business for micro, small, and medium enterprises, as well as encouraging more new entrepreneurs.
On the other hand, he also said that the ease of permits would accelerate the transformation of the informal sector into the formal sector, and, most importantly, would create massive employment opportunities.
Jokowi hopes that entrepreneurs both from within and outside the country, as well as SMEs, can take advantage of the OSS system services as well as possible. According to him, this will increase the volume of investment in Indonesia.
“I also convince business actors, domestic and foreign investors, MSME players, and large business players to make the best use of this super easy service in order to increase the volume of investment and create the widest possible employment opportunities,” added Jokowi.
