The South African player is already in Denmark for medical examinations and leaves behind an almost five-year connection to Braga, despite having only played one game in the first team.
South African international Luther Singh will continue his career in Copenhagen, thus putting an end to an almost five-year connection with Braga. SAD arsenalista already has everything agreed with the Danish club, in a deal that includes the sale of 80 percent of the economic rights of the player for around 1.5 million euros. At the same time as guaranteeing a financial income, Braga solves yet another surplus case in the squad (they had a contract until 2023) and the number of professionals in the sports society, one of the goals for this defense, also drops.
Luther Singh’s transfer to Copenhagen will have the official seal when the player fulfills some bureaucratic requirements and undergoes a battery of medical examinations, which is scheduled for the next few days. In fact, the 23-year-old South African international is already in the Danish capital, a clear sign that the agreement between the clubs is complete. By retaining 20 percent of the player’s economic rights, Minho will be able to earn some more money in the future in case of a transfer from the wing.
Luther Singh arrived in Minho in January 2017, destined for the B team, and two years later began the loan saga, with stops in Chaves, Moreirense and, more recently, Paços de Ferreira. The winger had only one game in the main team from Braga, in 2018/19.
The South African international is Braga’s fourth sale in this market window, joining Esgaio (Sporting, for 5.5 million), Samuel Costa (Almería, for 5.25 million) and Ryller (Al-Fayha, for 600 thousand euros), which gives a total of 12.9 million. Each season, Braga need to make between 15 and 20 million euros in player transfers.
SAD does a deep clean
The market is still halfway through and Braga is already one of the clubs with more movements, especially in terms of departures. Lucas Cunha and Murilo (Gil Vicente), Bruno Wilson (Vizela) and Xadas (Marítimo) were freed assets because they were not included in the accounts, while Esgaio, Luther Singh, Ryller and Samuel Costa were sold. Zé Carlos and Schettine were loaned to Gil Vicente and Vizela, respectively. The ceding of Cashew apple to Aris Limassol and Borja to Alanyaspor have purchase options, of 500 thousand euros and three million, respectively.
