British drummer Charlie Watts (80) will not tour the United States with The Rolling Stones. Watts has to rehabilitate after a medical procedure. It’s not clear why he was operated on, but his entourage says everything went well. “I’m working very hard to get fit again, but I have to accept the advice of the specialists: it will take a while,” Watts said. Since the rehearsals for the tour already start at the end of August, there is no other option than to hire a replacement. Steve Jordan, a musical comrade of Watts, will stand in for him. The man is no stranger to The Stones. Jordan has already worked on Keith Richards’ solo albums. He was also part of the live band of the TV show Saturday night live.
