Her age is her greatest insecurity. Jolijn was certainly not happy when in episode four Maxime decided to emphasize once again that Jolijn is really ‘only’ 24. “It’s just an insecurity on my part”, Jolijn now opens a book. “And that was suddenly told out of the blue. I am also someone who wants to be in control and now I lost control because someone else was telling this about me.”

“It is also more something of myself, because I find it difficult what I actually want and which way I want to go, that I just can’t find the peace,” continues Jolijn. “I come across quite mature, so it’s often the contrast that scares others off. I’m also very strict with myself about that. I’ve experienced so many times that they say: ‘You’re still so young, you go off first. enjoy life.’ Just stop with that, I’ll decide for myself.”
Her age is also regularly discussed on Twitter and viewers think The Bachelor make her look older than she is. Something that Jolijn hears every day. Fortunately, she can laugh about it herself: “It’s just the way it is, I just have an old head… That’s just the way it is the story of my life.”
