Krišjānis Kariņš (“New Unity”) will discuss further support for Lithuania with the Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonīte and the Prime Minister of Estonia Kaju Kallas, taking into account the difficult situation on the state border with Belarus.

Although the flow of migrants trying to enter Lithuania illegally has slightly decreased in recent days, the total number of people crossing the border has already exceeded four thousand. The Prime Ministers will discuss possible solutions and further action at the level of the European Union to remedy this situation, given that the goal of migrants is not Lithuania but Western European countries.

Vilnius believes that the flow of migrants is deliberately coordinated by the regime of Alexander Lukashenko, thus responding to Western sanctions and Lithuania’s expressed support for Belarusian opposition.
