De Panne –
The largest theme park division in our country is getting its own Monopoly version. Plopsa CEO Steve Van den Kerkhof and Cedric Libbrecht of rights holder Groep 24, presented their joint project on the village square of Plopsaland De Panne.

“We have already worked on a themed version around FC De Kampioenen and we are also developing various other Monopolys, including several city editions,” says Libbrecht. “Last year we already launched a Red Devils version and this fall we are aiming for a Home edition. Plopsa is the first theme park to have its own Monopoly edition. The game itself doesn’t change. The pawns also remain the same. You will not be able to buy streets or grounds in the Plopsa version, but attractions. Players will be able to put together their ideal Plopsa Park. The chance cards were also adjusted. For example, you may have to pay a sum of money because you ate at the Mister Spaghetti restaurant or because you have to pay maintenance for your attractions. It will be a real total experience and guaranteed fun for the whole family.”
Worlds come together
The themed version is slightly more expensive than the regular one. “For a standard game of Monopoly you pay 40 euros, for this Plopsa copy we ask 50 euros. That is between the regular price and the price for exceptional editions. For example, our Star Wars edition quickly costs 65 euros.” (Read more below the photo)
