BREAST CANCER Encouragement of check-ups in hospitals

A three consecutive week program dedicated to women’s reproductive health.

It was reported that a series of activities will begin next week with the objective of having annual preventive studies related to breast cancer being carried out again in outpatient clinics.

From the Breast Cancer Program they want women to return to external clinics for check-ups.

Dr. Estela Esquivel, the main reference of the aforementioned program, explained that next week they will begin to carry out a series of activities to encourage women to return to hospitals for the necessary check-ups.

“The objective of this new activity is for women to return to tertiary hospitals, that is, outpatient clinics, to undergo their annual check-ups to have control and thus take care of the comprehensive health of women,” said Estela Esquivel.

The activities organized by the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program will be carried out as follows:

  • From August 9 to 13 at the Maternity Hospital (from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
  • From August 17 to 20 at the Centro de Salud hospital (from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
  • From 23 to 27 at the Avellaneda hospital (from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

What is the objective of this proposal?

The professional highlighted that the goal is for women to have their annual gynecological check-ups that include mammography, in women between 40 and 70 years old; PAP and HPV test, from the age of 30, and with a frequency of five years; and papanicolaou and HPV test, that is, double taking, in patients under 30 years of age.

“In this way, from the Breast and Cervical Cancer program, we are accompanying this group of women to return and return to the outpatient clinics of the hospitals for their annual check-up and thus contribute to the comprehensive care of the woman ”, explained Esquivel.

How can you prepare for gynecological studies?

From the Breast Cancer Program, it was explained that preparation for this type of study is required: the patient must not have had sexual intercourse 48 hours before, she must not have placed vaginal eggs at least in the previous three days, and not be in your menstrual period at the time of the test.

The invitation is open to all adult women to carry out these special studies, adequate and necessary for the preservation of their health and well-being.
