Palmeiras imposed a fine to prevent Borja from being cast by the Guild against Alviverde himself, according to the blog. The idea is to avoid the famous “law of the ex” when the two teams meet no matter which competition it happens.
The value was not revealed, but was defined by the board of the São Paulo team as “very high” and “very unlikely to be paid”.
Palmeiras lent Borja to Grêmio because they understand that the team already has enough attackers in its squad and to save the salary that comes to around R$ 500 thousand per month.
In addition to the fine, Alviverde also demanded that the team from Rio Grande do Sul release the player immediately in case of a proposal to Europe or demand the purchase clause. There was also a renewal with the Colombian until the end of 2023.
